Focus Time

๐Ÿ“ Main Page โ†’ Click the class in the timetable โ†’ Click [Focus Time] in the left sidebarโ€‹

Getting Startedโ€‹

  1. To start a class, first check the [Please check before starting] box and then click the [Start FocusTime] button when it is enabled.
  1. If students are in another class, click OK to start the class when a pop-up appears that says โ€œPlease be aware that this may disrupt the classโ€.

:::DANGER Caution

If you start FocusTime outside of the actual class start time, you may disrupt students in other classes. Please be sure to start on time for class.

Conducting Lessonsโ€‹

  1. Focus Pen: Click the ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธbrush icon to write on the screen with a pen. You can change colors, use eraser, and clear all drawings (trash can).

  2. Teacher Screen Sharing: Click the ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธmonitor icon below Focus Time to share the teacher's screen with students. The items that can be shared are as follows: (When using Chrome browser)

    • Chrome Tab: Share the Chrome browser tab that the teacher has open.
    • Window: Share a specific window running on the teacher's computer.
    • Entire Screen: Share the teacher's entire screen.
  3. Student Screen Sharing: Click on a student's screen below the teacher screen to share that student's screen with the teacher and all students.

  4. Lesson Time Adjustment: Click [โ€“5 / +5] below the Focus Time screen to decrease or increase lesson time in 5-minute increments.

  5. Screen Lock: Click the ๐Ÿ”’lock icon to lock students' screens. Student screens will turn black and display the message "Please pay attention to the teacher." Click the ๐Ÿ”’lock icon again to unlock.

  6. Full Screen View: Click full screen view to see the screen in a larger, expanded view.

  7. End Lesson: When the lesson is over, press the Quit button to end the lesson.

Focus Monitoringโ€‹

You can check studentsโ€™ level of focus through the student screen monitoring feature.

The border color around each student's screen (shown below the teacherโ€™s main screen) indicates their focus level.

  • Green border: Students with high lesson concentration
  • Orange border: Students with low lesson concentration
  • No border color: Students with average lesson concentration

Share a resourceโ€‹

Click the [Share Resource with Students] button to share a link or file with your students.

  1. Share a link: On the โ€˜Linksโ€™ tab, enter a link and title to share, then click the โ€˜Share Linkโ€™ button to send the link to your students.

  2. Share a file: Select a file to share from the โ€˜Fileโ€™ tab, and the file will be shared with students.

App/Web Controlโ€‹

You can manage the apps and websites used by students in your class.

  1. Click [Apps and websites you want to control student use] and then click the Add App/Web Control Settings button.

  2. Select the sites you want to restrict access to and click the [Done] button, and the selected sites will be automatically blocked from students. To unblock, click the checkbox of the app/website again to deselect it from the control list.
